How We Make Wine
Texas has wonderful fruit and can produce excellent wines and we are out to prove it to you!
Zero 815 Winery will only make wines from Texas fruit, we promise! Texas has the climate to grow Rhone style wine grapes as well as Italian and Spanish grapes due to the climate in the High Plains. We are proud to be a part of this exciting time in wine history.
Nature gives us a different product every year. It can be the same varietal, but so many things affect the end product! We, as winemakers, have a decision or a challenge to either shape and meld the grapes into fitting a certain profile or we can change it up entirely by utilizing certain wine making techniques.
Our wine is made in rich Texas soil from the High Plains and other AVAs only in Texas! The 290 Wine Trail is the new “Napa,” the epicenter of wine adventures in Texas! We are still growing our vineyard and will be 10,000 case a year winery once we are finished expanding.
We age our wines in French oak, neutral American oak and steel. In the future, we will utilize concrete and clay for smaller batches of wines to add complexity and style. Each wine has a different process
